TARGET GROUP

According to UNESCO data from 2014-2016, female enrollment in higher education is notably low in fields such as ICT (3%), natural sciences and green engineering (5%), mathematics (8%), and engineering (8%). Furthermore, research conducted by the Geena Davis Institute in 2015 revealed that only 12% of individuals working in STEM fields worldwide are women.

To ensure a sustainable future, it's imperative that today's students, particularly female students, possess strong STEM skills. In alignment with the principles of inclusivity and diversity, and recognizing the importance of STEM skills development, the project aims to target female students through both transnational and local activities. Additionally, teachers will play a crucial role in challenging gender perceptions that hinder girls' participation in education and steering them towards STEM careers by incorporating the STEM approach into their lesson routines and education curricula.

The primary target group of the project comprises female students aged 15-17, a critical age for career decision-making, as identified by partner institutions. Throughout the project duration, partner institutions will conduct workshops, activities, and provide digital materials and action plans related to STEM careers within their own schools or affiliated institutions.
